About Ease in Mzansi
We’re committed to a South Africa where everyone feels at ease and empowered to navigate socioeconomic challenges with help from support groups.
Our Story
Ease in Mzansi began with a vision of helping South Africans manage their mental health when it is so influenced by bigger, systemic issues. It took shape in 2024 as Jenna Solomon’s final project for a MA in Global Media & Communication.

A South Africa of Ease
Our vision at Ease in Mzansi is simple: as we build that country, we take care to address the fallout on our mental health that comes with living in a developing country and ensure that everyone is aware of how they can do that.

Promoting existing support structures
There are a number of support groups where South Africans are supported through all the big issues that plague our country: unemployment, alcoholism, poor economic growth, violence, etc.

South Africans Together
Subscribing to the African philosophy of ubuntu, our mission at Ease in Mzansi is to encourage South Africans to find mental health care in support groups. We do this through our podcast series which highlights support groups that are based on socioeconomic issues and offers educational information about the benefits of support groups and how to get involved.
